How the ROAS calculator works and how to read the result
ROAS (return on ad spend) tells you how much revenue one euro of ad spend brings in. If you spend 1.000 € on ads and they generate 3.000 € in revenue, ROAS is 3×.
The calculator estimates ROAS from inputs such as industry, average order value, conversion rate and monthly budget. It uses ROAS = average order value × conversion rate ÷ CPC. CPC is a typical value for the industry you pick, not your actual CPC. The result is therefore an estimate, not a calculation from your ad accounts.
We compare the estimate with the CEE median and the top quartile for the industry. The benchmark values are PIKA. estimates per industry. The gap to the top quartile, scaled to your budget, is the estimated monthly and annual revenue gap.
ROAS alone doesn't tell you whether you're profitable. Gross margin does. Break-even ROAS = 1 ÷ gross margin: at a 30 % margin it is about 3.33×, at 20 % it is 5×. Below that line, ads don't even cover the cost of goods.
FormulaROAS = revenue from ads ÷ ad spend
